wide-man-hunt tonight for steve stevens accused of shooting to death a 74-year-old father and grandfather and posting video of the killing on facebook. back with me now my panel. emily, i will give you the first word. because as you know as casey just said, these manifestoes or so end up on facebook or on facebook live. is this a new kind of exhibition? do you think this is going to become the norm? >> absolutely, and it is the norm. social media has taken away the middle man. we have guidelines where we say, perhaps, we're not going to show videos like this. >> we're not going to show it on the network, yeah. >> exactly. because we have over the years developed best practices. social media gives people the ability to broadcast it. the power is in anyone's hands. what we saw yesterday is that the worst will be reflected. now, kwlng what casey was getting at if that the case, then facebook has the responsibility, just like traditional media, to minimize harm. they want people on facebook to post as much as possible which is why they create something like facebook live platform, which is super easy. but they also have a large incentive to keep facebook free of videos
