we are making good progress within the substation now. we should have our estimated time of restoration for the remaining customers between 4:00 and 5:00 today. >> the san francisco fire department was quickly on scene as calls came in reporting smoke and fire. >> our crews were notified at 9:30 this morning. we had another call from a resident at a hotel who said she heard an explosion and saw smoke. we upgraded our assignment and when we got on scene we were able to extinguish the fire. we needed to extinguish the insulation that was burning and surrounded the breaker. we were able to successfully do that with the dry chemical agent. >> power was shut down to the montgomery bart station. some staff was sent home. traffic lights were knocked out for hours. at one time, 300 lights were down. there were reports of people trapped in elevators. those caught in the train system had nervous moments. >> it was pretty chaotic and very crowded. i have a minor handicap, and people were very kind and getting out of their way and making room. thank
