americans, in your view? >> well, donald trump made the promise on the campaign trail he was going to protect the american worker and boost jobs. understand something, we import 22.6 million metric tons of steel, a lot coming from canada, brazil and south korea. and what we're finding is what china is doing on the open market in terms of dumping, not making our steel excesstive on the world market, and remember, donald trump was put in by a lot of states in the industrial midwest that are keen on steel like pennsylvania, ohio, michigan and indiana, and he's got come through on this like he did on the h1-b visas. he's going to order a review and think he can find the right mix of sticks and carrots and pull the right levers to be competitive on the world market, not so dependent on the foreign steel. trish: lor prices go up, is that good for steelworkers? >> reporter: good for any workers. trump has proven time and time again, he has best interest at heart. very interesting, i mentioned the trump rally back in play with the economic agendas on the table. they're not pushed off. that's the hope on wall street. tha

this is another thing that all that donald trump is given to the american worker, i got your back, andor you. what is needed about this, usually, you have democrats and republicans who pander to the business or worker community. donald trump is working for both of them. he sees american business is doing well. they have more money in their coffers, they can pay their employees more. he is coming to listen, would also talk to them about his vision for taking american manufacturing. >> martha: you think about the fact that he had union leaders come to the white house and he did well, or a lot better with those groups then any republicans had for quite some time. but those voters are going to be hearing from democratic leadership over and over. they will say, he is not doing what he promised, you don't -- your wages haven't gone up. you don't have a job where you didn't -- you haven't gotten a job in the past 100 days. he has to fight against those messages and it will start happening pretty soon. >> the wisconsin unemployment rate is basically a point below the national average. people a

the united states will lack five million workers with an adequate post secondary education by 2020. unfortunately, too many of the federal government's actions over the last few years have made it harder for the american workers to keep up, to adjust to the changing world, and to create, find, our keep a job. president obama's department of labor issued 130% more final rules than the previous administration's labor department. overall, the obama administration issued an average of 85 major rules. these are rules that may have had an impact of $should million -- $100 million or more on the economy. 85 major rules a year. president bush, on the other hand, issued about 62 a year. that is about a 37% increase under president obama. take the over-overtime rule -- take the overtime rule. this cost woulded a hundreds of thousands of dollars to the cost of tuition and force small businesses around the country to produce the jobs that families need. this rule has been delayed by the courts until at least june 30 of this year. or take the so-called joint employer policy. this is a policy that affects franchising. it makes it more likely that a parent company will own and operate its stores instead of allowing

protect your jobs by protecting our borders, and we will crackdown on visa abusers that undermine the american workerng that right now. >> kimberly: that was president trump addressing the administration's crackdown on employers that hire foreigners over americans. the justice department says it won't tolerate any misuse of h1b visa processes to discriminate against u.s. workers and is threatening prosecution if discrimination is in fact discovered. dana, this is an issue of tremendous concern. i think to a lot of people that supported president trump and his movement of the forgotten men and women across the country that felt that this country, the administration wasn't being responsive to their needs, their desire for gainful employment and work to be able to support their families. >> dana: there was a report on "60 minutes" that was mind-blowing and heart wrenching. he was about workers, the h1 b process, if you are an employer and you can't find an american to take the job, then you can take the step. that happens in high tech's misses. in the 60 minutes report, people doing regular jobs that do
