[ booing ] i hope we can do so respectfully. >> reporter: in february, she angered many in the black community when she referred to historical universities as, quote, real pioneers of school choice. in fact, hbcus were founded during a time when african-americans could attend white schools. students hand-delivered petitions with more than 50,000 sig

including those who booed her. students booed devos during much of her commencement speech yesterday.. at the historically black university in florida. many students are upset about a now-recanted statement she made in february, when she called segregation-era historically black colleges "pioneers of school choice." many students in the audience also voiced their objection. earlier this week-- students delivered a petition with 50-thousand signatures, asking the faculty to reconsider devos' invitation. but the school went through with its original plan. a teen in union county, north carolina is facing criminal charges, after allegedly plotting an attack at his school. police arrested him tuesday, after investigators say they found knives, fireworks, flammable liquid, and a hit list in his backpack. investigators says the boy posted in an online chat room about plans to stab several students. a canadian law enforcement agent saw the post. the information was passed to the f-b-i.. and the union county sheriff's offic
