. >> chief meteorologist doug kammerer is now in the storm center to tell us what you're tracking. >> right now tracking storms yet again. we had them yesterday afternoon and some of those storms quite strong and even severe yesterday and tracking some thunderstorms mostly toward the south. i want to show you where these storms are. in towards northern virginia now tracking those storms as they make their way out of the mountains. they're near the warrentown area, strongest storm just south of luray right now will move into culpeper county over the next couple hours here. watching this boundary, there's a boun tri that moves right along 66 here so south of this boundary a good chance for strong to potential severe storms. lightning associated with this one. just west of the culpeper region and as these move enhancement of these storms over the next couple of hours. once again part of a line that's being moving toward the east and we do expect this one to kickoff some more showers and thunderstorms, even another line back toward the west and could also bring in some storms overnight to

let's get right to the forecast and chief meteorologist doug kammerer. how messy are we talking?tomorrow morning is really going to be a mess out there. the heaviest rain coming just as the morning commute gets started. take a look right now already seeing heavy rain across the area on storm team 4 radar. the rain around the district here is heavy rain in through loudoun county back towards warrenton. this area is prone to flash flooding. we will have to watch this very closely because there is a lot more rain to come. i think we will get a bit of a break tonight. look to the south here is where heavy rain is, storms to the south. all of this is moving our way. flood watch in effect in southwestern zones areas to the south and west for potential of two to three inches of rain. i will show you the timing of this, when it moves out and what is coming next. this storm really is a game changer for us as we head into next week. >> thank you, doug. news 4 today will get you through the messy commute tomorrow. get started at 4:26 a.m. >>> a woman scared to return home after waking up to

let's go to doug kammerer. >> we were showing that cloud to cloud lightning, the finger lightning that we like to see out there. beautiful night tonight for it. the storms are passing by. those severe thunderstorms did not cause a lot of damage but there was some damage. i will take you about six hours and show you how the storms developed. boy did they blow up. severe thunderstorm warning for just about every county here and then finally starting to die down as we move to the south. each little dot here represents hail and wind damage across parts of the area. a lot of hail up to quarter sized hail. this area right here we saw a 66 miles per hour wind gust in towards portions of prince georges county. now they are all gone. the storms are out of here for now and for the next few another boundary and frontal boundary will give us another chance of strong to potentially severe storms. i will break down when i think the best chance of those storms are and what it means for your weekend. see you back here in about 15 minutes. >>> tonight family members are planning a funeral for a little

let's bring in chief meteorologist doug kammerer. doug, what's the timeline on when that stuff makes it here? >> it could get here quickly. over the next couple of hours, we'll see the rain moving on in. some of it will be heavy in about two or three hours. that's how fast it's moving in. as you mentioned, radar is dry across our region. it's a cool night tonight considering whether we've been over the past week. the rain is not here just yet, but it's just down to the south. take a look at the yellows here, the reds, these are individual thunderstorm cells as well, but areas of heavy rain. this is all moving up from the south. and the wider picture, showing the storm itself, way back to the west. a lot of moisture with this storm, a flood watch in effect for areas in the southwestern zones. rappahannock county, and areas to the southwest. still a lost rain here, over an inch in many locations overnight tonight and through the day tomorrow. we'll talk more about the timing of it, what to expect for your friday morning commute. we'll s

doug kammerer is tracking cooler temperatures that are headed our way. >>> but first this evening, more than half a dozen men from our area are facing charges this evening, accused of trying to prey on minors across the internet. fairfax county police arrested them in an online sting and we learned one of the men is no strafejer to this type of crime. pat collins is live in mclean with these disturbing details. >> reporter: one of the suspects in this case is no stranger to the law. he has a history, a record of sexually abusing a child. his name is aristotle panop loss. he's 33 years old. he lives in a fancy mclean. in 2006, he was convicted of having karnl knowledge of a minor between the ages of 13 and 15. ar aristotle picked up again this time in connection with a computer solicitation of a minor. in all, seven men arrested. they range in age from 23 to 64. most are from virginia, one is from maryland. it was an internet sting that was over in a matter of minutes. detectives posing as juveniles went online, they say in a short period of time, they received solicitations. >> within j

it also wasn't much fun for doug kammerer. he was making his way back over that very bridge, stuck in a little bit of traffic as he made his way back into work. at least he didn't have to deal with the rain coming down, like we saw over this past weekend. we can actually check in with doug now with a closer look of what to expect during the workweek. >> it was just over three hours to get down, four and a half hours to get back. it took me three and a half hours just to get to the bay bridge today. definitely a mess on the eastern shore. i say, let's create a flyover, from the bay bridge to rehoboth. right no the south, and fredericksburg. but most of us on the dry side. even though the clouds have moved back in. we're dealing with a frontal boundary to the west. that's going to move our way and tomorrow will be another unsettled afternoon. but first off, today, frepretty good. i-95, only 62. 63, that onshore flow continuing at the beaches. temperatures inland, we'll talk about those and the rain chances for the upcoming week.

. >>> what a wild and wicked afternoon once again, doug kammerer. >> yeah.s been a theme around here over the last couple of days but it's not going to last. now we're still looking at those storms moving on through the area and you can see those storms very well from our tower cam. earlier this was facing to the west. now it's facing to the east and take a look, you can see the storm making it's way up towards the east, up toward howard county and prince george's county. looking pretty good right now. if it was dark we'd be able to see that lightning but you can definitely see the rain. really two storms and evein we got the strong storm here. it's now weakened and now looks like, again, starting to strengthen as it moves into baltimore. another storm down into the southern charles county. another storm forming down around king george county. down towards quantico, just south and east of quantico. this is the big guy and in towards bowie and indianapolis along 50, 50 going to be a mess because we got very heavy rain from bowie right there at the chick-fil-a

doug kammerer in the storm center with the track of that. >> i'm tracking those storms right now justthe north of d.c. and nor thunderstorm warning it. that warning lasted until 6:30. you can see that warning in the yellow. eastern montgomery county, southern howard county, extreme northern portions of anne arundel, this storm you can see a lot of lightning associated with it. we've seen it pulse up and down. very strong around the reston area. we saw that hail in pa tomorrow mac and looking at hail closer towards the coalsville area. notice the line. you can see that line extending down from baltimore all the way down to d.c., right on down i-95. always a mess this time of day. even more of a mess with the rain. i want to show you what's happening right through in eastern montgomery county. taking the lightning off here, you can see it right near the intercounty connecter. some very heavily rain right around laurel is where we're seeing the heaviest. only starting to pull away from your area. farther out you can see this is one little area of rain that we've got coming through.
