rebecca baty was an eyewitness at the event. she spoke to the bbc soon after the first reports.d my friends were in the arena at the time. we were sort of at the other side of the arena to where the, sort of, noise, whatever it was, came from. we just heard a very, very loud bang. everyone started running and screaming and we did too. we got out of the building. me and my friend were close to the exits are we did not have to go very far. but there were people pushing trying to get out quickly. the congestion of people, obviously, i can understand injuries. i don't think it was a balloon because we heard from across the other side of the arena. there were a lot of balloons let off during the concert, but i don't think that is what it was. may be audio equipment. we were close to the exit, so we were lucky. but other people were literally running from one side of the arena to the other. that may be the cause of the injuries you have been talking about, because people were trying to get from one side of the arena to the other. she was speaking just as the news arrived of what actua
