jean elle joins us from san rafael where his arrest has shaken up the department.t do we know. >> reporter: darryl harris has worked here at the marin county sheriff's department 14 years. he lots of friends in law enforcement and in the district attorney's office. police say when he girl came forward accusing he sexually abused her they had to act carefully. >> reporter: from high-profile deputy chief coroner to jail inmate. darryl harris has worked for the marin county sheriff's office since 2003. tonight he is accused of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14. >> sexual assault related charges that span over eight years. >> reporter: charges investigated carefully because harris knows so many people in marin county law enforce men. the san rafael police department investigated the claims that stretch from 2008 to 2015. on thursday, san rafael police asked the santa rosa police department to take over the case. officers from that agency arrested the 46-year-old married father of two in eureka. harris appeared in court today. cameras were not allowed inside.

a chance of a cloud cover, cloudy start in san rafael and redwood city, in san francisco, overnight lows in the 50s. the winds are changing directions. a cool breeze from the ocean tomorrow which means temperatures are going to drop. low cloud cover, yes, cooler, yes, for most of the bay area. the one exception is if you will, the marine layer shadow of the santa clara valley. that will not make it over to the santa cruz mountains so the warmest spot will be in san jose, gilmore, morgan hill. your temperatures want to move much, mid-to upper 70s were as much of the bay area impacted by the cool ocean breeze will be 10 to 12 degrees cooler. as for why we are seeing cooling and the wind direction change, i don't see a ridge of high pressure anymore, it's leaving. low pressure to the west and southwest, pushing to the northeast, that is going to dragon the cool ocean influence and keep us near or cooler than average for the next seven days. cooler near the water overnight tonight. afternoon sunshine, yes. but the afternoons will be much cooler. also rebounding a bit, back to the low 80s. fr

san rafael 48. seasonably chilly. e's the wind off the ocean a northwest wind so it's especially going to be breezy in san mateo county the city of san francisco and also down towards santa cruz this exposed right to the wind coming in from the water so we're staying windy and the ocean breeze will keep temperatures cool for saturday. let's talk about why it's windy. that huge ridge of high pressure that gave us sunshine and warm weather is now over new mexico and arizona and four corners. it is still very strong. there's a big area of low pressure that helped cause 2500 lightning strikes in western washington yesterday. it is strong. right in between, where we long island the bay area. so the difference in pressure from that high to the low is really cranking up the winds and will once again tomorrow. now, the low is going to swing by to our south tomorrow. so tomorrow morning will actually be cloudier in the southern sections of our viewing area and a tiny chance of a north bay hills shower tomorrow afternoon. we are
