let's check in with meteorologist allyson rae. >> you might want to grab the umbrella today.not going to be a complete washout. we are going to have scattered showers in the morning and the afternoon, especially farther to the south. man is it warm out there. it's going to stay warm today, not a lot of temperature change. we'll stay in the 70s. it's a touch on the humid side as well. we're done with that crisp air we got to enjoy over the weekend. 65 for hagerstown right now, 60 for martinsburg and 73 for washington. we're sandwiched in between two areas of rain, one to the south and one off to the north. the one to the south is going to be a little bit more of a rainmaker. take a look at your futurecast. i think this futurecast is underdoing it a little bit. imagine a little more rain extending through the d. c. area. before the lunch hour these showers are going to continue to stream through parts of virginia. it will start to taper off, thoudy skies and that feeling point. i'm going to wait for this updated computer model, but i would count on showers through the day. high

meteorologist, allyson rae, has a look at how it will impact the dmv with her first alert forecast. >>> we are tracking cindy, now a tropical depression. the actual storm won't last much longer and it has never been concerned about. not very strong wind wise but the amount of rain, there you go, tropical storm allyson is only tropical storm to ever have a name retired with a rain event and that is what we are seeing. a lot of rain across the area and it is slow to move. it keeps going over the same areas. it will add up and we will not see dry weather into later tonight if not tomorrow. even inland into arkansas and through northern parts of alabama and tennessee, they will continue to see that rain. tropical depression cindy, not much will be left over. what will happen is extra moisture will tag along with a front sliding into our area. cindy might be headed our way, not correct. but the remnants will slide through and help increased rain chances for fr days and that is for the amount of rain and we will see. right now, a stray shower and going through futurecast friday and saturday

meteorologist allyson rae standing by with a look at your forecast. >> it already is a scorcher out therealready into the 70s. very muggy once again. you're not going to need the jacket today. we are going to see some storms. 73 for leesburg, 68 for manassas right now, 70 waldorf. it's humid and that's why temperatures don't fall into the overnight hours. this afternoon we're headed to the 90s. there will be some spots that are able to reach the upper 90s. when you factor in the humidity, it will feel about 95 to 100 degrees. that's below heat advisory criteria, but we're going to be pretty hot and humid once again. this is the last real day where it's going to be overwhelmingly uncomfortable. tomorrow still will be hot. we're making small improvements. forecast to94 at reagan national 96. a little relief for some. we'll have a chance for some showers, even a thunderstorm. a lot of them will be off to the west including leesburg through frederick, including purcellville. as you head over to gaithersburg and off to the east, they're not going to last very long. once the sun gets to set the
