let's get right to meteorologist cecily tynan and that late word from accuweather, cecily. >> in philadelphiae made it up to 93 degrees today. hard to believe earlier this week temperatures were only in the low 80's. the normal high is 86 so that's 7 degrees above normal so it may have been cool and windy along the shore but inland it's hot and humid and you can see the difference. inland we have temperatures in the 90's the heat index makes it feel like the low 90's although you get that wind off the ocean, we have wind gusts up to about 30 miles an hour. along the beaches, cape may beach haven it's in the 70's and atlantic city airport which is 9 miles inland in pomona it's 85 degrees. there is a lot of severe weather up to the north. in fact, there's some tornado warnings in part of new york state. we are looking at some storms kind of clipping northern berks county and the lehigh valley. most of those will stay north of us tonight. however, tomorrow we've got a frontal boundary that will be pulling through and that will bring us some stormy weather. so future tracker showing really the wi

meteorologist cecily tynan watching double scan radar live with a first look at it all. hey, cecily. >> hi, monica. double scan live showing i'm actually tracking two low pressures. one is to the south off the coast of virginia. that's what's bringing steady rain parts of south jersey southern delaware. another up to the north will that drag a cold front through our region later tonight ink beforing in the possibility of some thunderstorms, mainly north of philadelphia, the lehigh valley, the poconos really the best chance. but right now the steady rain is across south jersey parts of cumberland burlington ocean county moving across 47 and these areas have been seeing the bulk of the rain today. we can actually flip double scan live over and show you how much rain and it's spotty but there are some areas near fortescue, near millville, about an inch to an inch and a half of rain so they did have some flood advisories there, localized flooding. tonight showers, rain exiting to the south but then that cold front sweeps through bringing the potential for some thunderstorms,

with ducis rogers, meteorologist, cecily tynan, and jim gardner.uesday night and the big story on "action news" tonight is breaking news in the tioga nights town section of philadelphia. police are probing the discovery of human remains at 17th and west atlantic street. christie aleto is live on the scene. >> reporter: well it's an active scene as the medical examiners office is combing through the empty lot where human bones are said to be scattered throughout the dirt. they are focused on the area where the milk crate is and this abandoned suitcase where police say earlier this afternoon the human jawbone fell out of it. they were digging on the 1700 block of atlantic street and police tell us that the same contractors started to work out here on june 19th and discovered bones, apparently they didn't initially call police because they thought the first set of bones were animal remains but this discovery has residents that live here rattled. >> it's all of here and the leg is over there. >> they were tearing it down. and making something of it. yo

meteorologist cecily tynan with that steamy forecast. >> one more day of the extreme heat. and then we have some relief on the way. we're live on die 6, taking a look at the center city skyline. blue skies and sunshine. nothing more than a few fair weathered cumulus clouds. and the heat is on, day two of our second heatwave of the year. philadelphia, 93 trees. so far the high 94. one degree shy of the record high. allentown, reading, and wilmington, 91. trenton, 92. notice the place to be right on the beach, cape may. got that wind off the ocean. feeling quite a bit better there. 79 degrees. but close tort ocean is where the dew points are higher. you have that ocean influence. so dew points in the upper 60s in cape may, low 70s in dover. that's oppressive. here in philadelphia, the dew point is 60. so it's been mixing down with some drier air, so it's slightly humid, but once the sun sets, you lose the mixing. so it will get a lot more humid after sunset tonight. now, satellite and radar showing this is the heat buster. it's a cold front. it's called a backdoor cold front
