katherine scott is on the scene with the latest details. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, the two victims were a couple they lived at the apartment together they were found dead late last night. police have since we last spoke wrapped the scene up, the crime scene unit and detectives from the homicide division were here throughout the night gathering evidence. this happened in the first floor apartment 1300 block of federal street in south philadelphia. a 23-year-old woman and her 50-year-old boyfriend were found lying on the floor of separate rooms in the apartment. both were pronounced dead shortly before midnight. there were no signs of forced entry, but police say the place was ransacked. both bodies were bleeding and had facial bruising and something was found around the victims' necks. >> the two people were found by a family member who lives on the second floor apartment. when the family member went downstairs to check on them, they discovered the bodies laying on the floor in separate rooms and called police.

katherine scott is live on the scene. >> reporter: that's right, matt, crews were here all night battling the flames, firefighters are still on the scene they are continuing to blast water on the hot spots inside. the fire broke out at 10:00 p.m. on the 300 block of steel road in morrisville at simms management scrap metal recycling yards. crews from multiple companies responded. they hauled in cranes to help to lift the crushed burning cars and metal into the air and then firefighters would blast water at them from every which way. this was a labor-intensive process it took time as firefighters worked to access the flames that were trapped under the scrap. the smoke was heavy, the flames were thick, this was a remote location, tanker units were brought in to help. crews are here checking for any remaining hot spots that could be in the yard, so far no word on what the cause of the fire could have been, live in morrisville, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank you, now to more breaking news.rch for a home invasion suspect. the action cam is live on overbrook avenue and cardin

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live on the 1800 block at east clementine street with what w at this point. good morning, katherineism good morning, tam. the fire broke out late last night and as firefighters were putting out the flames they discovered a body on the second floor of this house. we can see firefighters going through the building earlier with flashlights. you can see the glass is broken out of its windows. police and firefighters just left the scene within the last five minutes. this happened last night here on the 1800 block of east clementine street in kensington. firefighters were called around 10:40, crews arrived in two minutes to heavy flames on the first floor of this two-story end row home. once firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze they discovered the body on the second floor. one person who had been on the second floor jumped to safety. he was taken to temple university hospital in stable condition. the circumstances surrounding this fiery main under investigation. l and i was here. we did see a canine unit. police and firefighters were here

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live at that home in gloucester township. she's got more. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. and the family here is okay but understandably very shaken up about what happened. there was somebody actually asleep in the basement when a nearby wall collapsed on that side of the house. ground water had seeped into the foundation and washed away the outside of the walls. all the weight from the mud collapsed the wall in. heavy rains and fierce storms ripped through our area overnight wreaking havoc on homes and in streets. in gloucester township, camden county authorities were called in after water pushed a basement wall in at this home on beverly drive. residents here called 911 around 2:00 a.m. firefighters and police responded. everyone got out safely on their own. restoration crews were now shoring up the home. in lower merion a tree came crashing down around 11:00 p.m. completely blocking city avenue near 66th street. for the next several hours, officers were turning around traffic until public works could arrive and rem
