ludlow was my first field trip in the third grade. i went to college and ended up studying with an individual who had done research on colorado and i had the opportunity to do research at the archives in our community. in the past couple of years, i was able to sit on the ludlow centennial commission, it had been 100 years since the massacre. it was a governor appointed commission. i ended up being the cochair of the commission. when i think about ludlow, i think of my personal connections in the history of it. when i first heard of it again i was a kid. when i sat on the commission i had children by that time. ludlowaving children, meant something significantly different to me. i will start off by telling a story of three different families. the first one is the petrucci family, the last one is the rockefeller family. i'm going to play a song about mary petrucci. and some of for experiences in the winter of 1913. i will only play a minute of it. ♪ >> ♪ mary and her husband bring their children to town ride the train to trinidad two s
