sandhya patel is here with the forecast. those all important wind speeds for tonight. >> those winds are going to be critical. i do want to show you what's going to happen. from fairly light to all of a sudden just ramping up. gusting to 30 to 34 miles an hour at times then eventually will taper as we head towards tomorrow late morning early afternoon. that's the concern. it's a very drying wind right now as we take a look at live doppler 7, you will notice that we have no clouds around, no rain around, that's not going to help us or the firefighters. visibility still running low due to smoke. concord right now three miles visibility. so definitely poor. from our east bay hills camera, it's hard to see across the bay because visibility is poor due to all the smoke and haze. oakland right now62, san jose, half moon bay down to 55 degrees. the exploratorium camera giving you a nice view of san francisco in the mid-50s from santa rosa to napa. look how smoky the air is. walnut creek cam. this is really bad, obviously. here's a

we're going to talk about the forecast in just a moment with sandhya. the pocket fire swelled late this afternoon. the fire is getting a lot of air support. it's burning south toward geyser's road backing down the hills toward moody lane and northeast toward cloverdale guyers road. the fire is 8,100 acres and 0% containment. the sheriff's office is warning people to respect evacuations already in place. windy and dry conditions have been making it tough for firefighters to get a handle on these fires. of course, they're worried once again this evening for what the next few hours will bring. sandhya patel is tracking the fire dangers and the all-important wind conditions. >> that's right, dan. let's look at live doppler 7. we'll talk about the winds and what's ahead. skies are clear across the bay area, really the concern is that the winds that you're seeing right now will actually increase tomorrow night. right now, they're actually not that bad. gusting to 15 out of the north at hawkeye, 13 out of the northwest at mount tam. it is still a drying wind.

sandhya patel is here monitor conditions to tell us why. >> we're expecting gusty winds, so let's take a look at the fire danger rising in the coming hours. red flag warning already up for the north bay hills right now. increasing winds in the hills as we head into the latter part of the evening. lowering humidity, and that means fires will spread quickly. the existing fires and any new fires that develop. the red flag warning has started for the north bay mountains and east bay hills. it begins for the valleys at 11:00 p.m. tonight and runs until 11:00 p.m. tomorrow night. gusts in the hills 40 to 60. 30 to 35 miles per hour in the valleys and the wind advisory will be kicking up at 11:00 p.m. tonight, running until 5:00 p.m. saturday as the winds could topple trees and power lines. it covers solano county, north and east bay hills. right now, winds are light, this is helping firefighters. relative humidity values still decent, but they will be dropping as you look at the forecast. the winds increase heading into the wee hours of the morning. complete look at the forecast coming up. >
