now, the big rig crash happened just after 10:00 here on highway 101 near north san pedro road, just north of north san pedro road. chp says that the big rig slammed into the center divide and then caught fire. the chp reported fire coming from the front and rear of that big rig. now, by 10:35 a sigalert was issued because all northbound lanes were blocked along with three southbound lanes. now, at this point there is no word yet on the identity of the person who was killed in that crash. that sigalert cancelled at 3:30 this morning when all lanes reopened north and southbound. now, this situation not completely over yet. it might be difficult to see, but there is damage to the center divide. we understand that caltrans crews are due out here again at highway 101 northbound, they are supposed to be out here sometime between 7:00 and 9:30 this morning to begin repairing that center divide. we are hoping that as the sun comes up, we are going to get a better look at just how much damage we are looking at so we can get a sense of how big the job is. the advisory, of course, for anybody w
