reconsideration because we hate one party or the other party, we keep it fragment and we will never teepees and we will keep it subject for very high risk in the region. >> what about syria? isis seems to be defeated, almost defeated at least on the ground. what was uniting russians and united states, common element. i should say is no more but there appears to be somewhat less ethnic russians and the american objectives -- [inaudible] russians are more supportive for the regime than they were before. should say united states has less of a priority in changing the regime in syria, but not prepared to accept current president indefinitely. and then of course its own objectives and its own unique diplomacy. what's going to happen there? >> we are concerned with what's going on in syria. look, just, the complicity of the syria situation, because of the different players, international players in this crisis is really making it very complex and very difficult to be resolved. but what we know, we have to go back to the basics. the basics that we have one person with his army killed more than 500

you might have noticed in the previous picture these people are standing around in front of teepees. this is not their natural, usual form of shelter. this is from the great plains. but it's part of the american -- i think this photograph is from the 1920s. it's part of the sort of popular culture in the u.s. of what indians are supposed to look like. what they actually look like is more like this in that area. they lived in the wooden structures, similar shape, totally different construct. you know, again, they're not only made part of the display but sort of made to change how they are living to fit our ideas of what a native person is supposed to be like. so there's this real i think understanding that these national parks, wilderness spaces have come at a cost of moving people out of changing them from being lived in nature to being this kind of iconic nature. so that sort of sierra history starting with yosemite moving on to creating the national parks. what does this have to do with my work? this is an opportunity to talk about my own research since i had a book out last year,
