my name is joe taboni, i'm the project sponsor, owner of the taboni group, small family owned construction company. my father grew up in san francisco. went to high school in the mission schools, and operated a business for 40 years on 22nd and south vanness. i was raised by a single mom, scholarship through grammar school, high school and college, so i understand low income and helping children throughout their educational process. we're very heavily involved in the mission charities for a number of years: mission delores academy, holy family day home, seven teepees, all helping the youth and the mission. in 19 # 8-- 1988, i built 4770 mission street. that was at the time the first 100% private affordable housing project in san francisco. we still operate that today. it's 40 units of 5,000 feet of retail space, mainly filled with elderly and disabled. throughout the process i met with neighborhood groups and tried to work out the extra benefits with them, and at the same time, i canvassed the area and met many neighbors. all the adjacent neighbors have signed support letters. many of them

joe taboni has been involved with holy family day home as a board member for over a decade. he's given countless hours to directly improving the lives and conditions for many of our homeless families. last year he helped create and fund a family pantry which provides shelf stable food daily to our community. this year, he's funned our holiday car program, and our arts and humanities program by arranging for the homeless children to see the musical alad aladdin next week. these are just a few ways joe has helped break the cycle of poverty and empower families which are our core mission at holy family day home. the vacant lot like this creates unsafe neighborhood for the mission and families due to the criminal activity. we are in whole support of the proposed 75 units with retail space with the affordable 11 units. please approve this project with no conditions as soon as possible as it's desperately needed in the neighborhood. thank you. >> thank you very much. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon, commissioners. cory smith on behalf of the san francisco housing action co
