so i just want to thank everyone for being here and i want to thank our public officials, walk san francisco, bicycle coalition and everyone here who has a vested interest in saving lives. we all deserve to have safe streets. we shouldn't have to figure out which street to take this day or tomorrow, your life depends on it. you don't want to hear the phone ring and have the news that will rip your heart in two. it's tough, every day of the week i think about my son. he would have been 25 in may of this year. so he was in school, he was working, he had a promising future. however, the individual who took his life didn't care nothing about that. we have to care for those who are living. we have to care to make sure that crossing the street doesn't cost you your life. or end up in a hospital with life threatening injuries. we have to do it. so i'm here today to bring honor to those who have lost their lives and support all the individuals here to help make these things, the numbers come to fruition. i want to thank everybody. thank you. i grew up not far from here and i remember entering right here on to the freeway and i was here when the '89 earthquake happened and this freeway closed down and look how long it's taken, 1989 and it's 2017 and we're finally, finally just doing so many amazing things in this community where the boulevard is now this beautiful place for people to enjoy. this is one of the final pieces that's going to complete this area. that's going to continue to allow it to continue to be a thriving and amazing community. and i could not be more proud to represent you as supervisor and as acting mayor in mayor lee's honor and get this project going so the families can move in. this is so amazing, this is what we do best as a city. and i will definitely be here, supervisor, mayor, whatever the heck i'm going to be at the time, cutting that ribbon and helping those first families move into that place. everyone here, the financing we received from the state, bank of america, mayor's office of housing, there are so many things that go into making this a reality. thank you for your work. this is so amazi

i'm just here -- i wasn't actually going to speak, but i'm here in support of a fair democratic process. i would be against what is currently going on right now if this was supervisor kim, this was supervisor ronen. we need to have a fair democratic process that goes along with this. this is not about identity, this is about fair process. right now, san francisco has seven out of ten homeless people that once had a roof over their heads, one of the worst income inequalities in the world. the average latino family in the district making $25,000 a year, yet we have white people making 150 k a year. we can house all of these people, but we need to have a fair process, and right now there's a lot of trauma that goes on with the residents of san francisco because they don't feel they can trust that democratic process right now. we need to appoint an incident ram mayor and get a legally binding contract with the city and county of san francisco so that way we don't have this caretaker mayor that can actually run in the future, so that's all i'm saying with that. but i really urge the city and

i want to welcome everyone here today. elected officials, department heads and thank you media, i know you're getting wet. thank you for being here. first of all, happy up coming lunar new year of the dog. some characters are loyalty and honesty and principles in helping and serving others, thus they make good police officers, scientists, politicians and judges. the office at central station must be convinced i was born in the year of the dog because of the barking i do at the station but i was born in the year of the monkey. i had the fortune of taking over the station. i worked at central station for retired deputy chief tom, the captain for the years of the dragon, the snake and the horse. during the dynasties, they worked vigorously to end extortion, reduce overall crimes and increase public safety in chinatown. we work hard to continue to build on their successes and legacy. they built great relationships and friendships in the chinatown community and our city family. chinatown has been known as an underserved communit
