ms. sanchez: thank you, good morning. thank you for joining us. i would like to report this morning the congressional hispanic caucus and tri caucus leaders had a meeting with john kelly to talk about a fix for dreamers. there are a number of legislative proposals that have been introduced that would essentially provide the relief that dreamers need and deserve and that the president promised. we had a pretty fruitful discussion about the fact that there are solutions that have been proposed, bipartisan solutions, such as the hurd-aguilar bill, on the house side. ther\e is a senate bill that is -- there is a senate bill that is being worked on but that they have core consensus on. we're simply asking for a vote. give us a vote on a fix. we think we have the votes. i believe that the hurd-aguilar bill were allowed to come to the floor we would have the votes to pass. a piece of legislation that enhances border security, but again gives dreamers the certainty that they need and that they deserve. this past week we were back -- weekend, we were back

ms. sanchez: it was a meeting at his request. we give him credit for sitting down and hearing our concerns. it was informational, not a negotiation. there are others in a room talking about negotiating a proposed solution. we made him aware of a bipartisan bill introduced this ek by william hurd and representative aguilar which provides a specific daca fix which is paired with them -- paired with border security elements which we think is the way to go. we want something narrow in scope that doesn't includes issues we can't agree on. i think overwhelmingly a majority in the house would pass that bill with strong republican support if it were allowed to come to the floor for a vote. i specifically asked the general if we were allowed a vote on thed -- and the hurd-aguilar bill passed the house is that something the president would sign? he did not give a guarantee the president would though he reiterated the president is committed to finding a solution for dreamers and in the past they've said, let congress figure it out. if congr

ms. sanchez was talking about. currently the park service is using a national survey to determine working wage that comes in at $12.01 per hourment. and a wage that completely fails to reflect the reality of living in the bay area. i'm a member of the inland boatman's union and we ask that the general agreement between the port and the national park service include a requirement that the department of labour conduct a wage and benefits survey that -- of deck hands that are working in and around san francisco bay. further, we ask that it include language that would -- that requires the national park service to compel potential commissioner -- or concessionnaires to pay prevailing wages to deck hands working on the alcatraz ferries. now it sounds like i'm asking for more money. and i am. but i want you to think of this more as a safety or at least as a safety issue on top of everything else. just on the way over here, i did a quick little craigslist survey. to rent not an apartment, but a room in an apartment in san
