it even happened to our news van, chris o'connell, and photographer dave say they'd just helped a woman push her vehicle out of the snow when they got stuck. they got locked in place for roughly two hours before a group of guys helped to shovel them out. and they weren't alone. >> it was a chain reaction up here, i have single axle tractor, so i'm stuck, waiting ton wrecker, the guy behind me is waiting on a wrecker. >> this storm right away, when i started hearing branches falling, that start today make me nervous. we have kerosene heaters. i think we'll be okay. and then candles, so maybe some board games. >> plows worked through the night to clear the snow off the roads ahead of the re-freeze, and our drive up here, up 95, to get to bensalem, was very good, main roads clear, the side roads and the dark roads that you need to be careful of. just passing us by during the live report, mini-van went with about 4 inches of snow on its rooftop. that's a reminder headed out this morning, be sure to brush all of the snow, because just going to snack another driver right in the windshieldment

chris o'connell live down the shore in ocean city. how are residents preparing? chris? >> reporter: well, scott, whatever nasty weather you are forecasting has already started down here at the shore with some soaking rains and some very gusty winds. it is the kind of forecast people down here at the shore have heard and dealt with many times before. and, yes, they are preparing for a storm. some people out tonight stocking up on whatever they could for what could be a couple long days inside this weekend. up and down the shore towns businesses and homes they are putting out the sand bags. many are spending tonight moving their cars to higher grounds. some boarding up their homes and garages. they are anticipating moderate to major flooding here with four high tides and full moon in the coming days. earlier tonight the townsend inlet bridge between avalon and sea isle that was shut down for safety reasons. >> we're preparing for some flood water and got to get -- move the cars and being prepared to sit in the house for a day or two straight. >> sounds like you've been th

meanwhile our chris o'connell is down the shore in avalon. people getting ready for big hit there. chris. >> reporter: that is right, iain. ya, the shore bracing for exactly what scott was talking about. a long wet and windy weekend that rain that will saturate the entire area just started down the shore here a little while ago. and so have the preparations. take look behind me. we're at the base of the townsend inlet bridge. this the bridge that connects avalon and sea isle. it was shut down about an hour ago because of safety concerns of the storm surge. and the flooding. if you know this bridge, you see those nor'easter just does some damage to this bridge. it will stay closed until at least saturday night. now, shore homeowners kept busy today laying down those sand bags in anticipation of the coastal flooding that's expect expected. especially in these low-lying areas. if you live down the shore, you have interest down here you know the drill. it doesn't take long for these streets to flood down here we saw people boarding up their garages with plywood. borough officials in ava

our chris o'connell is down the shore in wildwood with more on how they are preparing. ris, here we go, a typical nor'easter situation. >> reporter: yeah, kathy, i know a lot of people must have be watching your forecast because a lot of people down here at the shore towns are wondering just how bad this upcoming weekend will be. take look right now at our wildwood boardwalk cameras. we take look. desolate out here on the boardwalk. of course it is the middle of winter but this is the time every year where businesses and residents all along here on the boardwalk get ready for the summer season. but this weekend, i can guarantee you not a whole lot of work is going to be being done. take a look at preparations, yeah, people here getting the sand bags ready for what could be to moderate to major coastal flooding. they are bracing for tropical storm force winds with interests down here at the shore, they are being advised to have a plan together like pull your boat from the water. beach erosion. also, going to be an issue. one beach in particular down in north wildwood got

our chris o'connell is down the shore right now in wildwood with more on what they are planning on seeingwe're talking about power outages as well. chris. >> reporter: that's right, kathy. you know typically the first weekend in march down here at the shore is really the weekend when businesses start getting ready for the upcoming summer season. well, not sophists fast. we are here on the wildwood you see from our boardwalk camera, it is absolutely empty but businesses and residents are preparing for an unwelcomed shore visitor. a monster coastal storm. >> boats are being lived out of the water. stores have started sand bagging to protect against flooding. for folks down the shore, it's a dance they've become all too familiar with. >> when you hear of another coastal storm coming, what goes through your mind? >> flooding. a lot of water. a lot of winds, too. >> reporter: that's exactly the forecast over the next couple of days. winds up to 60 miles an hour. moderate to major coastal flooding including a full moon. >> on the worse case scenario water from the ocean meets the bay. >> report

our chris o'connell is live at a home depot in delaware county that's been busy the past few days. i'll tell you there's sad faces coming into the home depot here in delaware county. that is because first of all, many of these residents in delaware county eight to 9,000 of them are still without power at this point, and now we have another snowstorm bearing down on them. take look what's behind me it struck me is the all the grills out, the spring grills, the barbecues, the summer chairs, the haze lounges, the propane gas. already for summertime. well they had to cover up those gas grills because they won't be selling many of them. i can tell you what they are selling. take a look at some video we just shot about five minutes ago. this is the very last gas generator being caught bought here at the home depot and that -- they had 75 of them by noon -- noon today all 75 gone a few hours later. run on chainsaws. a run on gas cans of course a lot of people still trying to remove trees and downed limbs from their houses. also, run on snow melt and rock salt. people coming in here trying
