jeff. >> glor: demarco morgan in marshfield, mass. demarco, thanks. meteorologist eric fisher is following this storm. eric, this storm is different mowp bad is it and what's the timing? >> well, this storm is not quite as potent as what we saw last week, but if we didn't have last week, we could consider it, certainly, a major nor'easter. just getting developed near the coastline tonight. major storm warnings out from philadelphia across all the interior section of new england, as well as new york state and some of the same places that saw big snow last week will see big snow again with this storm system. that rain-snow line will be right around the i-95 corridor as it races off to the north and east throughout the day tomorrow. our biggest snow amounts will be just outside of 95, and we could see a couple of feet of snowfall again in new york state, some of those towns five feet of snow in five days. we zoom in a little closer, take a look at some of the sphaeps new york city on the age, 4-8 inches. 5-10 in hartford. 4-8 in fill. boston 1-3 just wes

demarco morgan is in duxbury, massachusetts, which is still drying out from the last storm. demarco, how is it looking tonight? >> reporter: jeff, good evening. this entire block here is it has been raining non-stop for the past couple of hours. and officials here believe the flooding will only get worse. the ocean engulfed dozens of homes in duxbury, massachusetts. a nor'easter that blasted through last week battered and broke open two sections of this 65-year-old seawall, leaving some areas under four feet of water. fire chief kevin nord is worried about more flooding with the high tide. chief, what's your biggest fear? >> losing this for the town, and to lose this and compromise this whole area would change really the landscape. immediately, though, it's always the residents and make sure we protect their homes. >> reporter: take a look at this huge, gaping hole right here. now these stones and massive rocks have been placed here as the last line of defense to save homes like this one and many others in this area. yesterday the duxbury fire department went door to door adv

our storm coverage begins with demarco morgan in hagerstown, maryland. mireya.eya villarreal is there snight. ureya. >> reporter: emergency crews are keeping a very close eye on fast-moving creeks just like this one. it has been raining for 24 hours on this area, but the bulk of oe storm isn't expected to hit until later tonight, even into thursday morning. there is a potential for 10 inches of rain, not just in the sawstal regions, but also areas north of los angeles. that's four more inches from what we saw just a few months ago. now when we saw these creek beds quickly overflow back in january's deadly storm, boulders sld mudslides killed 21 people, pstroyed 100 homes, and covered 30 square miles. mud and rock slides have already closed several roads in this region. 30,000 people are now under a mandatory evacuation for the third time since january. liw, firefighters are telling me the area north of here, the hillsides, are heavily saturated already. and the potential for more weather, obviously, is coming overnight. and that could create a potentially danger

demarco morgan is at new york's kennedy international airport where gusts topped 60 miles an hour. demarco. >> reporter: jeff, good evening to you. the nor'easter has simply grounded public transportation up and down the eastern seaboard to a virtual halt. here apt j.f.k. international airport in new york, nearly 500 flights have been canceled, and that number continues to rise. in fact, all three of new york's major airports, along with boston's logan and philadelphia international, have been experiencing cancellations and heavy delays all day. high winds being the major culprit. earlier today, at washington's regan national, heavy winds forced the pilot of this southwest airline jet to abort his landing, while at dulles airport, the control power was briefly evacuated due to those same high winds. amtrak tonight canceled all service in the northeast corridor between washington, d.c. and boston, at least until saturday. and given the prediction for heavy winds and rain to continue into the night, jeff, it will be a while before things return to normal. >> glor: these wind make for

demarco morgan is in freeport, new york on the south shore of long island where the water is already rising. demarco, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, guys. you said it. the water is starting this spillover at the canal in freeport. look. it's already starting to flood in this area. we could see anywhere up to 60-mile-per-hour wind gusts before it's all said and done. that could mean severe flooding for this area and along the coast. overnight heavy snowfall buried much of western pennsylvania and new york. part of a major weekend storm bearing down on nearly the entire east coast. some cars could be seen in banks off the side of the highway. high winds have already taken down power lines in michigan knocking out electricity to tens of thousands. trees also toppled into homes as far south as maryland. but the brunt of the storm will strike massachusetts. flooding is the main concern there and it could rival all-time records. storm surges up to 4 feet are possible. >> if you live in an area that's been told to evacuate we strongly encourage you to do so. >> reporter: governor c
