we have wonderful new buildings that are lead certified and we have a building at herron's head park. we've cut emissions by more than half. we privacy row emissions hydropower to our cruise ship at pier 27 and to our large government and commercial ship at pier 70. and with this announcement today, we are a making our air and water healthier for everyone. and i want to talk about how this initiative started. mayor farrell mentioned our y late mayor lee. back in july 2016, we toured our mayor for the late mission bay ferry landing. on that boat ride, mayor lee made the connection, hmm, if city owned industrial equipment and our fleet can transfer to renewable diesel, could the ferries, too? he had a big vision for this waterfront and for growth in our water transportation and linked this vision to environmental stewardship. his point person, tyrone viewed got on the job, teamed up with my key person, rich furman, and teamed up with important staff from the department. and ferry operators stepped up and agreed to make this change. so now with their partnership, we will have cleaner air

a few weeks ago we left our place in north beach and walked all the way to herron's head, and took the t-line back. the week before we walked from land's end and took the 38 back. i encourage everyone in san francisco to walk all over this great, great town. and from district six where we are standing, supervisor jane kim. [applause]. >> thank you, supervisor. it is always great to be here on walk to workday. this is now my eightth walk to workday, and elizabeth stamp reminded me that when we did this eight years ago, we walked from civic center to city hall and it was just the three of us, but it was great, and it has since grown every year. this issue has been an issue that i have long worked on. in fact, the very first hearing i called for when i joined the board of supervisors in 2011 was a pedestrian safety hearing, and it was while campaigning that i learned that more individuals in san francisco are killed by cars than by guns in san francisco. and these deaths and injuries are 100% preventible. so i was really proud to work with supervisor norman yee who i'll be introducing aft

control it to the method but judging from what we've seen here today in one of the main thoroughfares herron in catalonia there is that there is still a lot of strong feeling care and if there were any doubts that that would have to calm them down well they they've been proved wrong and certainly people feel extremely strongly about that and so you're trying to push back against that some of this crisis has been dragging on now for some time what are the options to get this resolved. already this impasse is very few options there the. political solution as it was to try and get catalonia out of this situation where it's being directly ruled by madrid is to try and is to choose a president of catalonia well that has so far not proved fruitful a tool they will reject they tried with the previous presidents a couple of speed savant that was rejection of course he's in exile they tried with germany such as i mentioned earlier. if this keeps going on they only have until the end of may to be able to nominate a president of of catalonia of those regions catalonia if that fails then they will have
