we are still actively engaged in transforming every unit of public housing in san francisco to make it safe, decent and high quality. so we have 23 hundred units left to do work on there. there is older hud finance developments for which we didn't provide financing, but they're vital to our affordable housing stock. the last four years have been really, really busy and productive. we have preserved or built over 6400 units and have 6,000 new affordable units in the pipeline. and these are affordable homes that will serve families, transition age youth, teacher, veterans, people experiencing homelessness. so with respect to how our work overlaps with the work of addressing homelessness in san francisco, most every one of our buildings has a set aside for households, typically 20-30% of apartments are re-seved for -- reserved for homeless individuals or families. we provide funding to buildings that are 100% reserved for homeless. there are 3100 of those units in the portfolio. and our near term pipeline has another -- almost 1200 units of housing for homeless households. that is coming

the housing units are inclusionary units. one of the projects that we heard a lot about from the community is a new senior housing project that we are proposing. we feel very good about this. this is a project that took 105 inclusionary units and wrapped them into a project that's now going to be available for those that have 60% or less of the area median income, and it's exclusively for seniors. that is what we think is important. we think we need more projects like this in the area. the area that's providing the senior housing is wrapped by retail development and market rate housing, so it is currently proposed in an area called oh, for lack of a better word, perhaps the infield. it's the infield of the candlestick point -- infield of the candlestick point retail center and development. and we purposely wanted it cited there because this allows access to retail services and other access to transit. it's right there. it also includes market rate housing so there's no isolation but rather a nice integration of development, of

this was a part of rad phase one, where we have been able to rehabilitate thousands of public housing units all over san francisco. so some of you may know, i grew up in public housing. i lived there more than 20 years of my life without showers, with rodent problems and other challenges that exist with no help on the way. when i first became a member of the board of supervisors, i told the mayor, mayor lee, that public housing was my number one priority, and he believed me, and he supported me. and we worked together with so many nonprofit organizations who help with housing, like tndc and don falk to rehabilitate public housing. so the site we stand on is connected to another site. and because of the work we've been able to do, 60 residents, 60 units which include over 100 residents, they now have a clean, affordable, safe, rehabilitated place to call home. and i'm so proud of the work that don and tndc has done to make that dream a reality, so thank you so very much.
