i want to recognize sf gov to have been, they'll be assisting us and linda wong is our clerk and she'll be helping us with the meeting. madame clerk, before we go -- before we call item one, i want to give opening remarks. so, colleagues, i want to say again, good afternoon, welcome. this is our second budget priority hearing. as we're all aware the city is facing ongoing and sustained crisis around homelessness. according to the last point and time, count, there are approximately 7500 people experiencing homelessness in san francisco on any given night. we have called this hearing because dealing with homelessness and behavioral health is a priority for the board of supervisors and we would like to understand a few things. so we are calling the -- calling this priority policy meeting. there are three key things i want to call out for people to pay attention to. where our money is going. what specific outcomes we're trying to accomplish with the investment. and to what extent are we succeeding. colleagues, we're going to hear from the presenters, i ask that my colleagues consider the fo

i'm very happy to see you, thank you very much, and glad to have folks joining us on sf gov tv as well. so today i'm looking forward to our conversation about better market street and initiatives, as well as sf tech week which we'll hear about soon. please do not hesitate to recommend any action items related to any parts of the presentation or items discussed in the report as a follow-up to the public hearing. i'm going to highlight today some of the major collaboration was the mayor's office on disability and the city, since march 2018. and some important ways for the public to engage with san francisco in the coming weeks. the first item is related to an update on accessible voting. so, the next meeting of the voting accessibility advisory committee, or vac will be held on tuesday, may 8, 2018 from 3-4:30 here in city hall. it will feature a vendor demonstration on the city's next voting system for starting 2019. we will see the operation of the polling equipment and discuss vac's participation in the voting system. while we anticipate that it is an interim solution, attendance at t

sf gov tv, i have a powerpoint presentation. before you today are two considerations for businesses to be included on the business registry. the applications are reviewed by me for completion and submitted to historic preservation staff for review. the commission heard the applications on april 4th and made positive recommendations to the small business commission. for both applicants, the commission has been provided a staff report, a draft resolution, the application, a case report from planning department staff, and a resolution from the historic preservation commission. there are copies on the table for the public. item 3-a is marine chartering company incorporated. the business is a worldwide transportation brokerage firm and ocean transportation company. marine chartering was founded in 1955 by george kisskadon, a long time salor with experience in all aspects of marine operations, chartering, and brokering. the company pioneered the brokerage of ships and cargoes from the pacific coast and rapidly expanded into all aspect

sf gov tv, can you turn on the microphone. try again, natasha. hold on. we'll get it together. thank you, good afternoon. thank you for providing us the opportunity to come and present. i want to give a brief overview to explain why we're here and what we do in the controller's office. i manage the performance program that focuses on public reporting, so our few of our main products on the screen, we have the website with the performance score cards. we highlight key performance indicators across the city, across a wide variety of services. we do benchmarking of the city services. last week, we started adding to the score card website. last week, we did transportation, later today we'll be introducing dash boards on park, libraries, water usage. and then we also do performance measures for all city departments and we report on those twice a year. we're working with the mayor's office to realign performance measures so they match department's goals and those will in the june 1 mayor budget book. today, we're here to talk about homelessness, as supervisor cohen mentioned, this is
