good morning, chris. >> reporter: natasha and reggie, good morning to you. voters will get the phenyl say this fall. if approved, it would generate $6 million for the city each year with more than half of that money coming from google. here is the video from last night as members of the mountain view city council voted to place the head tax measure on the november ballot. it would allow the city to tax companies between $9 and $149 per employee depending on the size of the business. most of the money would go toward transit projects, but 10% wuld be set aside for affordable housing and to help support the homeless. neighboring cities such as san jose, sunnyvale and redwood city already have a similar head tax in place. but this particular proposal hasn't been without controversy. the silicon valley leadership group as well as the local chamber of commerce have already spoken out against the proposal. but the mayor of mountain view says it's a fair plan that will not only benefit residents but help those who commute into the city for work on a daily basis. no
