this is something we will have toxplore in future conversations. this is mething that kim jong-un, if he wants to show he is serious -- releasing some of the politicaprisoners and taking measures like that, that would show he is serious about becoming a member of the international commun laura: do you have concerns that in his rush to get a deal, the president is conferring legitimacy on kim jong-un without him having given anything up yet? rep. hurd: i would say this -- r go there were schools in the united states of america that were contemplating whether they need to do a duck-and-cover drill for nuclear war. almost a year ago we thought weat the nasty rhetoric back-and-forth b the two leaders of the country were going to lead us into war. now we are talking -- one of the thgs i learned as an undercover officer in the cia, if you are talking you are not fighting. having this composition is important. -- having this conversation is important. it was a major step to have this meeting, and that is something that we were giving in order too see whet

the department was allocated in analyst to search to the grant writer toxplore and support additional sources of funding such as new classes and equipment and we have the recipient of grants for classes and equipment in the past and we hope to have that continue into the future. last slide, we're proud to have enhanced this over the last few years with the cooperation of some of our city departments and partners. we've made major strides over the past few yearsandingur outreach in public education. we're very good at responding and being reactive to emergencies that one thing i really thought we would improve on is being proactive and getting out there and trying to prevent the emergency before it actually occurs. this includes monthly safety fares held in all districts of the city as well as additional education materials made available to the public and increased presence on social media. these initiatives continue under the proposed budget including positions funded by the department of building inspection. they will continue to work with city partners in our efforts for outreach.

we would be glad toxplor that. >> supervisor fewer: i think you said 800,000 trips out to the airport, t.n.c.s. and seems as though we probably should be thinking about some incentives to get people to take public transportation out there. and then i just wanted to know, when you say that we are thinking about putting all the pick-ups in the garage, does that include taxis also, or just the t.n.c.s? >> the taxi operation would stay where it is, at the level, at the median curb. so, we are really talking about uber and lyft. we would also offer that to the passengers as an express pick-up and dropoff probably will incr the lgth of free access, so right now it's ten minutes free access for the public. we would probably look at increasing that to 20 minutes or so. to try to move some of that traffic as well. >> supervisor fewer: thanks. and you see in the one, you have 12.7% increase and in your 2, 10% increase. would you ever think about eliminating the pick-up fees for taxis? >> you know, we are unable to do that becauhef model of the allocation model and the cost recovery that we need

so i think it'd be a great opportunity just toxplor because this is not really about -- your work is not really about revolution foods, there are other -- a bunch of providers, and i think i would just be interested in seeing who are all the folks that we can consider, and just put revolution foods on notice that, you know, people -- people are upset, and we don't have the commitment to them, we have a commitment to our kids. we want to make sure we're participating in a school lunch. so i think we've achieved great things around the level of service, but we have a lot further to go around quality and taste. i saw the photos. i saw -- so that's just my overall general comment, and i'm committed to working with you to ensure that that is successful. so, you know, i don't want my comments tonight to be a mark on you necessarily, but i am hearing it from all over the city, so from all the perspectives, there's been a resounding rejection of our school lunches given our socioeconomic statuses from all over the city.
