>> chairman brinkman: yes. it looks like it's up there. >> i'm david nacher, long-time resident on broderick street, 17 years. and what's happened over the last 1 1/2 years is something that i never thought would be possible. the street is immersed in -- by a constant barrage of traffic, including tour buses. they're not alone, obviously. we have personal vehicles, motorcycles, all manner of vehicles. and they tend to ignore any regulation, any traffic policy that exists. they drive down the wrong way on the street. they double park there are signs that say double parking is not permitted. they ignore them. red zones, ignore them. they park across driveways. they park on the wrong side of the street. and it's a -- i encourage you to pass this ban. they currently ignore posted signs and red zones and there's no enforcement. unless there is enforcement, nothing will happen. so that's the big problem, that there are no consequences for this type of behavior. what is really bad is that people drag their kids across

. >> chairman brinkman: thank you. next speaker. >> skip high, lori juicy, miles cooper. >> chairman, members of the sfmta. i'm sky pile. we live in upper haight and i compute to king street for work. my wife's job is in foster city and she commutes using her bicycle and caltrain. i've seen a variety of improvements that have made my commute let terrifying. the conditions on townsend remain horrifying, particularly around the train station where you have taxis and delivery vehicles competing for access to the curb. i'm here to tell you firsthand that these conditions, a paint-on-the-ground bike lane is not effective. the inevitable result is injury to people on bikes. each time i ride through, i wonder, is this the day i get hit by an inattentive driver and fail it pick up our daughter from school or get a phone call telling me that my wife is in the hospital or worse because she was hit by a driver. or learn that a co-worker, who also commutes from the haight, was injured here and will require rehab before he can retu

thanks. >> director brinkman: thank you. i think i like to go through public comment and then we'll sir call become -- circle back for director comments and questions. >> hello, thank you for letting me address you today. i've worked extensively as a citizen and but as a cyclist and pedestrian and public transportation user for many years on both more recently the eighth avenue neighborway project. but also the traffic calming. i want to -- i'm glad there will be implementation of some of these safety measures. they don't go as far as i had hoped. for that reason, for two r easons. because the unintended consequences of these traffic diversions, tend to show up pretty quickly. i recommend a shorter interval for reevaluation. say six months rather than 12 months. in my experience, the traffic calming that was done particularly the banning of left turns on to mcallister in the southbound direction, which has been tremendous for that street in decreasing traffic and c alming traffic. however it's now coming up my street. golden
