marin county fire departments are stretched thin.been hoping for a break and they're not catching one. marin county has had firefighters up north fighting fires since last week. they have been on the flat fire, the county fire, and the ponty fire. this is early with fire chiefs telling our media partner the marin independent journal that last season ran late. this one is early, and that's just the break they're not getting. they said they had firefighters down south until december of last year. and they still have some firefighters who are out with injuries from that season. and now this season is very active and very early. the big push right now from these fire departments is to remind everyone here at home in marin county, no fireworks are allowed in this county. and there will be zero tolerance. zero tolerance policy will be in effect. they want to point out that there have been two red flag warnings in the last ten days. again, that is very early for this time of year. so the risk of fire is high. and they want people to be awar

this video is from marin county. take a look at this weekend. kristi smith took this in contra costa county. it makes the sun l tracking the conditions along the fire lines and the air quality here in the bay area. >> as we head towards sunday, i'm going to show you the quick satellite-radar that is picking up the smoke. this is where the yolo county fire is burning. detected over napa, but get this. it's as far down as oakland and reaching towards san francisco. we had several saying they have seen the smoke over san francisco. you can see it here on the satellite-radar. we are expecting the normal wind into tomorrow. what is it going to mean? the red flag warning is extended until 3:00 p.m. for the area because of the strong gusty conditions expected into tomorrow afternoon. it could be gusting upwards of 20 to 25 miles per hour. this is going to spread the smoke. have your windows shut. even though we don't seem to be close to the fire, the wind is going to push a lot of that smoke towards the bay area. i will have another update in a bit. >>
