nbc's bay area bob redell joins us live at the san jose dmv. we have all waited in the lines before, bob. >> reporter: yes. and there were long lines this morning. good morning to you, laura. anyone going to the dmv, one thing you dread outside of the paper work is the long lines. that's why the dmv in san jose and another are opening hours earlier to help people get through the offices faster so the two offices we are speaking of are the san jose driver's license processing center here on center road and the oakland-claremont. 7:00 a.m. four days a week except for wednesday opening at 9:00 a.m. on top of the two offices opening earlier, 14 bay area dmv offices with saturday service 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., beginning on august 4th. as far as the workforce goes, dmv plans to hire 400 new employees, statewide to handle the long lines. with the agency already hiring

bob redell is live in san jose. this was a late-night announcement coming from the trump administration. >> correct. good morning to you, marcus. an official with the trump administration who said that all children under the age of 5 who are eligible will be reunited with their families by early morning today, which means that these reunifications could be in the process of happening or could have already happened. a federal judge had ordered that these children younger than 5 be reunited with their families by yesterday. we're talking about just about over 100 kids. but the trump administration missed that deadline. the government says reunions were not possible in some cases because their parents were serving time in jail. nbc news spoke with a father from honduras who was separated from his 4-year-old son when they sought asylum at the border. this was back in february. the father during the past several months says he had been so distraught over the separation, he cut himself. even threatened suicide. now that t

today in the bay )s bob redell is live there now.. bob you actually covered the first fire that happened there four years ago.. there is a metal door here. workers are patching up the damage caused bay fire so if a contractor comes in do the permanent fix. it was limited to part of the roof. santa clara fire departments say there is fire inside. the restaurant was closed yesterday and monday. no one was inside. a fire department tells us that they had the fire out in 15 minutes, appeared to start near the kitchen door. they had to cut a hole to prevent it from adding to the attic. fire department not ruling anything out. nothing appears to be suspicious. as i mentioned, restaurant was closed yesterday and supposed to be closed today as well. this is video of the first on july 7th of 2014. it was just over four years ago. that fire started outside near garbage cans. it caused much more severe damage. the restaurant did not open until a number of months later. food and wine magazine just published an article talking about how that devas

nbc bay area )s bob redell joins us li >> facebook says it found what could be the first attempt at meddling. what did facebook discover? >> good morning. facebook says within the past several hours, it has taken town 32 pages and accounts from facebook and instagram. the company believes the people behind those accounts were engaged in coordinated, unauthentic behavior to spread divisive political messages. facebook has released screen shots of the four most popular pages that have been deleted. you can see they went by black elevation, resistors, one of those pages had over 290,000 followers. the people behind those had created more than 9,500 pages on facebook including about 30 event notifications including this one. this resist fascism rally scheduled for the second week in august. the company says it is trying to figure out who is behind these pages. but that whoever it is, they went01 to much further lengths hide their identityce than the russian based research agency, accused of meddling in the 2016 election.rk facebook has notified law enforcement and o congress abou this latest pro
