clean power s.f.e to present on this item. >> thank you, good morning, supervisors. i'm the director of the clean s.f. program for the power enterprise. i also wanted to welcome supervisor brown, we look forward to working with you. before you is a resolution to authorize the amendment to c cs247r, with calpine energy solutions to provide data management and billing and customer care services for the sfpuc clean power program. i have a few slides for and you some remarks and i can take your questions about this item. by way of background, clean power s.f. is san francisco's community choice aggregation program. authorized by assembly bill 117, and adopted by the board of supervisors and mayor. cca allows a city and/or a county to become the default electric supplier in its jurisdiction in partnership with the local investor-owned utility. by allowing the city to determine the source of its energy supply, and to direct more of its electric customers' dollars towards renewable and clean sources of energ

s.f. coalition. s.f. taxpayers' money are being held at banks that are involved in the process of separating families. i ask to abolish i.c.e. and urging the treasurer to divest from banks that invest inries prisons and detention centers. it's time not just to talk the talk, but walk the walk, and fight back on the playing field that corporations care about. i applaud all of you that went and marched at the sanctuary city rally, but what good is it if taxpayer money is being used to invest. it's bringing a knife to a knife fight and not a spoon. we understand a public bank cannot -- we have a public bank that's for a charter that's rooted, that has prohibitions against detention centers. and we understand this will not happen tomorrow, but it can happen in four or five years, but it requires an all-hands-on-deck attitude. i will draw comparison to the golden state warriors. the reason they're so great and the champions, because they're a selfless team and pass to whoever it's open. one day

and with the s.f. m.t.a. wheat do you want to start reducing the on street impacts that we are having? do you want to offer low income individuals at san francisco state a discounted rate? i don't think that public dollars should go into that. this authority has not thought that. that is why we voted last year to restrict funds from the guaranteed ride home. not to go to t.n.c. i don't want to penalize low income students at san francisco state but i think they have the wherewithal is a $7.5 billion company to do that. i respectfully would oppose that motion. let's see where the votes are out. i'm sorry, there's a whole bunch of folks. mike hines, the director of queen power s.f. for the sfpuc. and for the update today i'm going to cover a few things and provide an update on clean power s.f. enrollment activities and service status to customers as well as regulatory activities that we have been involved in since the last lafco meeting. with respect to enrollment in service to customers we continue at this time to service about 81,000 accounts in the city and the county. our program opt out percentage 3.2%, that's the number that i have been reporting if are some time now and it's been stable. and our super green upgrade rate is 4.2%, which is stable although growing. and so everything is moving quite well. as i've also reported in previous meetings or at previous meetings, we're in the midst of a large enrollment. we've now sent two of our four enrollment notices as required by state law to the approximately 27,000 accounts that will be enrolled beginning next month. in fact, next week will be the beginning of the process to clean power s.f. and that will continue throughout

s.f. united school district school groups throughout the year, during the school year, free access. additionally, we also provide several other opportunities for free access to the zoo during the year. for instance, this last january all children were admitted for free. s.f. and nons.f. residents, generated 12,000 visitors to the zoo. also during the napa cinema fires, we also admitted residents for free for several days, that was 4,000 visitors that came through during the crisis. and also throughout the year, various one-off day, people are admitted for free. the criteria for the basis for a fee increase is from section 15.6 of the lease and management agreement. the first one being, we considered admission fees of comparable zoos in other locations. considered admission fees of other city facilities open to the public. we considered the level of operating expenses at the zoo, changes of c.p.i., and factors affecting labor costs at the zoo. rationale for the increase, the last fee increa

i was part work -- part of the occupy s.f. encampment for seven days. i was there when the police threatened us with the violence. on behalf of the deplorable terrorist organization ice. i was there when they terrorize and brutalize the community of resistance the people had formed to attempt to resist the violence and trauma perpetuated by ice. i was there for all of this in the city. my home city in which i live for 18 years and still spend much of my life and energy. in a state which claims to be a sanctuary state, the only thing this city is century to a state of violence, oppression and political corruption. you can change that. the people demand you honor our commitment to a welcoming sanctuary and a long overdue reprieve from state to violence, oppression and political corruption. we demand you do everything in your power to end the support of ice and -- direct or indirect. we want you to implement programs to assist employees who renounce them and disavow themselves. we admonish you stop the police force with their tactics against the people's r

we see that in a role cost at s.f. general. so it was a cost born by the taxpayers of san francisco but there's a larger social cost that we have estimated at more than $500 million annually to the injuries and fatalities that we see on the streets. it is about saving lives and we're going to talk a lot about statistics. and i don't want to lose sight that these are real people, real neighbors, real friends. these are the names of the folks that we have lost just this year. i am not going to read them all out loud and i hope that we can all keep them in our thoughts as we make our way through this presentation. so overall, san francisco sees 30 traffic deaths per year. last year we had 20 recorded traffic deaths which was our lowest on average ever, recorded in san francisco history. and those are still 20 people who didn't make it home. so, you know, there's no opportunity for congratulations here and we still have to focus on getting to zero. and in san francisco seniors represent a disproportionate number of those deaths. so
