fire crews from new zealand are here in the bay area providing extra help to bay area firefighters. a crew of 41 firefighters jumped in to work on the front lines of the mendocino complex fire. these firefighters are expecting to be here fighting fires for the next 40 days. ( robin )another large and deadly fire we're tracking is the carr fire-- burning in shasta county near redding. it has burned more than 170- thousand acres ... and is 47 -percent contained right now. more than 1-thousand homes have been destroyed. and seven people have been killed... including two firefighters. ( robin )and in southern california... crews are using aircraft to try to control a raging forest fire south of los angeles. it erupted monday and so far, the holy fire has already burned over 3- thousand acres, and is only 5- percent contained. no homes are immediately threatened, but crews say, the smoke could blanket neighborhoods and create unhealhty conditions.
