one of my favorite memories from practicing in this segment goes back to when i was in tulsa and we had a large governmental client that i was working on, and we got into an accounting issue with the client. i needed what i felt like was the support from one of my .artners i contacted him and set i had a .echnical issue with the client he arranged a conference call, and jim gets on the phone with me and our client. we start talking for these issues, and the conversation turned to why you are applying the standard in this way, and jim referred back to if you go to the preamble of this standard and read it, here's the spirit of what is said, and the client's natural reaction was how did you ever know that, and his response was "because i rote it." that is kind of a king's act in any conversation when you talk about how the standard should be applied when you actually authored the standard. see if i can get our clicker to work here. and we are not working on the clicker. in fact, i think our whole slide deck is frozen. we have technical help coming. there, i got it. from the beginning. you
