lillian kim is live in berkeley. >> reporter: this is one of the locations targeted by thieves, now with the arrests customers say it's about time. security video from separate locations tell the same story. a group of men wearing hoodies is seen entering the stores and grabbing as many apple products on display as they can. it's unclear if it's the same people every time or whether they're a knelt work of thieves. either way, officers arrested six people on the heists. from the north bay to the east bay to the peninsula. >> i think it's great that they're getting them. >> reporter: the customers, news of the arrests comes as relief. many people feared it was a matter of time. >> just the disregard for public safety and there could be customers here that could be hurt. we could have been hurt when they did what they did. >> reporter: the state attorney general's office says the investigation involves multiple law enforcement agencies and more information will be released later. at least one customer hopes the arrest will send a message to others, especially kids. >> afterpple is a good c

in napa county, lillian kim, abc 7 news. >>> to our north, progress is much slower against a wildfire that shutdown interstate 5 in shasta county. officials now saying it will be closed indefinitely just north of redding. the delta fire broeng out wednesday and is now 5% contained. families in several neighborhoods are still being told to stay away from their homes. >>> smoke from the wildfires is affecting our air quality. here's a look at the smoke today from the bays. we are under an advisory until tuesday. >> that summer spread today 64 at the coast, but yes our air quality is declining in the north and east bay throughout the next several days until we get our cooling trend under way. it is beginning. we saw a couple of degrees of cooling today but it has to do with the wind component and we are looking at still the wind being moved in from the west but that fog being chased away out of directions out of the north. as soon as we get that onshore push all around the bay area we'll get that cooling under way. we are looking at winds gusty at the coast, and then that's going to tran

abc 7 news reporter lillian kim has more on the evacuations in the area >> reporter: with police permission, the mendoza family returned to the berryess estates. they said the drive to their home was reassuring. >> now that i look, it's better. when we left, there was a big cloud of smoke. we have seen how close it was >> reporter: firefighters spent all day dousing hot spots in what has been called the snell fire. the waterway serves as a natural barrier between the burning hills and the nearly 200 homes under evacuation orders since. fire broke out on saturday. >> the concern now is it is holding along the creek. if it jumps that, it gets into the community area. we want to make sure we are confident that that area is cooled down enough that we are not going to have to re-evacuate people >> reporter: residents are pleased that the worst is behind them. >> i tell her you have to take the dog. i have to help other people. it was stressful, chaotic. >> reporter: now everyone is eager to return home for good. >> kwroi don't see the fire. i don't see the smoke. they have cleared things up. >>
