how do we make the embarcadero complete? well, we believe it's focusing and delivering these project elements, which i won't go through, but they include a physically protected two way bike way on the water side of the embarcadero, and i'm expand upon that. that will certainly be the most vezible and significant out come of the embarcadero enhancement project, but other things include more crosswalks and better ada access. this is the other way we can complete the embarcadero as it addresses the main pedestrian safety issues. it helps make the corridor more efficient since a lot of our signals are tied to the length of time it takes to to cross the road way. as lindy mentioned, this corridor, much of the corridor is on our high injury network which accounts for the bulk of severe and fatal injuries, and on the embarcadero specifically, these injuries are on the rise if you compare the last decade to the middle of this decade, you see about a 20% increase in those incidents. as many in the room here today will be reminding us,

and to the far right of this embarcadero site will be where the park is. there are three levels of guest rooms above and there is a bar and gathering space on the rooftop that looks out on the embarcadero. at the top, on the roof, you will see a number of shades and areas where we are hiding our rooftop mechanical but it's really a compact small light weight building that fully integrates the theater into the hotel. we spent a number of years, here is the davis side and there's the park, when you are looking at the park, the top fixture. you are at the corner of green and the ex -- embarcadero looking south toward the embarcadero. you would see the tent and that area in the tent. for this purpose i thought i brought my, but as you get there, the park would be a major feature of what we are doing, including the area at the end of the tent which would be an indoor/outdoor area of the public. leading on to the park. there's a view of the park. as ricky mentioned, we work closely with the park staff and planning department on this fabulous new amenity and look

pier 3032 is one of the few piers that is not within the embarcadero historic district. as this slide shows, it lost all of its historic shed, and so the rules and conditions under which can can be improved really do not follow the same set of conventions that are set forth in the working group's recommendations for the embarcadero historic district piers. and so we walked through, in quite a bit of detail, what are some of the opportunities and the challenges for pier 3032. i think people recognize, as the port staff has expressed to them, that there are important uses as represented by the mass and ship in this image about its deep water berth and its maritime berthing and operational value, the revenue value of the use of the parking lot now is an important financial resource for the port. but there is a recognition that it is a doeteroirating facilit. our experience with development projects to date, structural condition surveys that have been done have shown that in fact it's deteriorating condition as a very costly facility, and the efforts and the finances required
