what you see in a place like wichita kansas or wherever. in a place where someone would have been part of the farmers alliance. and it would've helped to understand the world around them. those are gone today. does have disappeared from everyday life. west taken their place as fox news. it's like in north korea how they have a loudspeaker. and only plays one channel. in vast parts of this country that's what it feels like to me. those other things that came from the grassroots up where ordinary people got together and built a movement of their own and worked out. their own understanding of the world. it happened again in the 60s also. with not as much success. the punk rock circuit. i was can ask those two questions what we do with citizens and then i was getting bring up this book that i read by neil postman. it was a wonderful book. and he was ahead of his time. it was written in 1994. he said this is can happen. people were no longer meeting and meeting holes for hours and talking. and working out what would make sense for a small time.
