. >>> the construction accident that happened around 9:00 a.m. off durham road near 680. let's get right over to kpix 5 kid doe who is live with this developing story. on construction company , they have shut down the job site for the day. just before 9:00 a.m. two construction workers were climbing the 20-foot tower made of steel and rebar. they are required to wear safety harnesses, so they were clipped in in case they slip and fall. as they were nearing the top, the workers could sense the tower was about to topple over but they cannot unbuckle in time. so they fell down with the tower. one of the workers was injured likely crushed by the structure and is now in the hospital in critical condition. the other worker how to moderate injuries and a third man had minor scratches. the construction company tells me each tower is made of six pieces of rebar. they are set deep into the concrete foundation. the company had every reason to believe it could handle the weight of two people. >> they climb the tower, thti these towers to make them much stron
