at someoint heos he was tased and he was on the ground but he was able to get up. the owner of the tanning salon tells me at that point the suspect ran towards him. he said, hey, man, don't do this, just stop. he told me -- and this is a quote -- he looked like he was mentally challenged or on drugs and the man did later tell me though that he looked harmless. the suspect then made his way down the street a bit where he got into another -- some sort of scuffle with the deputies. according to this witness, he said he saw his head slump forward like this and he wasn't moving. emts and an ambulance later arrived and that's when the witness saw the ambulance take the suspect away, and that's where, of course, we now know that he died at the hospital. this is a massive scene on el camino real. traffic is all around it because the street is shut down for the investigation. we are here now. we are going to move and try to speak to the sheriff's office. try to figure out exactly what happened. live here, i'm kate larson, "abc 7 news", bck to you. >> thank you for that repo
