>> reporter: apparently it was a pretty heated meeting here at milpitas city hall and in the end, the decision was unanimous, the entire city council voted 4-0 to come up with a so-called urgency ban to ban marijuana sales within the city limits here in milpitas. they also moved to have staff draft a permanent ban to go into effect later. there is a current temporary ban, but it expires in january and that's the reason for the urgency ban. the ban on marriage marriage sales was enacted when california voters said yes to legalizing marijuana. the city also scrapped a plan to come up with an ordinance allowing ten dispensaries and again the city council said no, though they said yes back in october. now, according to "the mercury news" reporter who was here last night, about 100 people signed up to speak here. we also have some of the letters people submitted ahead of time. most of them urging the council to ban marijuana in the city, saying it's a link to crime, others telling the council that any tax revenue coming from legal marijuana businesses just wouldn't be worth the trouble. th

as we get a look at our south bay highs today, san jose reaches up to 78 degrees and 80 at milpitas, and then for the east bay, a lot of those lower 80s back in the forecast today, very much like yesterday, with danville reaching 82, and in oakland 74 degrees. the peninsula up to 66 at half moon bay and 73 in san mateo. some upper 60s for san francisco. the embarcadero reaching 69 degrees and 9 in novato and napa. as we're starting out, you need something that's going to keep you warm, at least to start out, and a jacket or maybe a scarf, or a hat, and then you might want to just make sure you're wearing some comfortable shoes. it's going to be a beautiful day, and you'll want to spend some time outside. as we look at the bigger picture, and see what's happening, we take a look at our satellite, still some clouds well off to the west of us that will be moving into the pacific northwest but still not moving into the bay area, so as we continue on with some very dry conditions. now we have the concern of wildfires once again for our east bay and north bay hills. red flag warning will g

the robbery happened last sunday just before noon at the branch inside seasons marketplace in milpitas say 38- year-old alexander ventura walked into the bank, showed a gun, and then demanded money from the clerks. he was arrested after police found him in san jose. officer say they found a gun and an undisclosed amount of money in a u-s bank envelope. ventura is facing several charges including robbery, and possession of a concealed firearm.
