deputy director cindy kauffman, you're own. >> deputy director kauffman: thank you. this will be a short report since we met a couple of weeks ago and director mcspadden give you updates. director mcspadden is in washington, d.c. for a board meeting. n 4a is the national association of area agencies on aging. we refer to those as aaa. we are aaa here and we have most of our contracts. they are working through their policy priorities this week that they will work on at a national level. this is also an opportunity for members to visit their state representatives and we have two members from california that serve on the board. so they will be visiting both northern and southern california representatives. this is also the time of year that california is starting its two-year legislative process. the department and human services agency as a whole are looking at our policy priorities. state associations as well as california senior legislature are developing their proposals at at this time of year. some key dates to remember as this unfolds is january 10th, which is the

"san fransisco chronicle" article brought up at our meeting was october 16, 2018. i forgot to look it up. had contractors not maintaining some sites that they had to do work on. all of the bills have been signed, vetoed or let fade away. there are a couple that i wanted to quickly mention that's been passed by the governor and approved. one is the office of emergency services. we've talked about that during the course of the year, especially in light of the santa rosa fire last year and obviously brought much to our attention with the fires in the north and the south. they passed the office of emergency services on communications notifications and that's a work in progress. work is beginning on that for san francisco and the north bay. that legislation was passed in -- assigned by the governor in september and work is being done. and that's why there
