violent crimes and auto burglaries drop by double digits in the city of san francisco. the mayor's office and sfpd releasing the numbers thursday..in 2018, the city saw murders drop 18% and non-deadly shooting drop by 30%. city dwellers we spoke with say they hope the trend continues..sot: it definitely will make my mother feel more comfortable if i tell her that..the statistics also show property crime was down as vehicle burglaries dropped 17 percent..auto thefts went down by 13 percent and larceny theft decreased 10 percent.. the mayor's office says the increase in foot patrols and the hiring of more officers is helping bring the numbers down. colin hart who lives in the city says despite these numbers he's still seeing a significant amount of package thefts and auto break-in's happening. he says if you are a victim of crime you should continue to take responsibility in actually reporting it to police...sot: because if we turn a blind we're just doing an injustice to ourselves.
