"today in the bay's" sharon katsuda is live at mineta san jose international report with more on why the cameras could be on your flight and why we didn't know sooner. sharon? >> reporter: kris some passengers are just learning about this this morning, and some airlines are saying that the manufacturer installed these cameras. ap reports a passenger on singapore airlines spotted the camera on the back seat entertainment system and posted it on social media, questioning privacy issues. that prompted much media attention and airlines are now explaining that so far, they have not activated the cameras nor do they intend to. american airlines told ap that manufacturers installed the cameras for possible seat to seat video conferencing. still customers have questions. >> any device any camera any laptop you can get hacked into a plane, a car. it's always a possibility. hopefully they'll have some sort of security measures to handle that. >> reporter: ap says the customers who posted a picture of the camera suggested putting a cover on it until airlines decide what to do and for now, custo
