i grew up in the excelsior direct in illegal a.d.u. units because we didn't have enough legal housing in san francisco, the price too high and back then it was not clear how to make legal a.d.u. units. near my house in the excelsior district there's many small two to three-story apartment buildings now illegal to build. housing is becoming more expensive in the excelsior district in accordance with e.i.r. predictions. so we need more housing and a.d.u.s are helpful but not enough. san francisco can't do it alone. homes in my working class neighborhood, they're selling for $1.5 million, $1.6 million. i'm encouraged by the protections for the neighborhoods like mine. i saw mine was part of the gray area. we need state law to get more housing built in the job rich areas and palo alto and coop coopertino. and we need more so they don't dump all their engineers in my neighborhood. my mother needs to find a new house that's affordable preferably without driving because she doesn't drive very safely and affordable housing is predominantly fun

i had a 25-year-old intern who grew up in excelsior and did not know how to ride a bike. was not a san francisco kid and he learned to ride his bike at sunday streets and he is now a cyclist. he was an adult, that what we can hopefully do is introduce activity for kids earlier in their lives through programs like sunday streets and place streets. lastly, working with partners in neighborhood groups to activate parks through organized events, activities and unstructured play katie talked about the park activations that we do. we work with a huge number of community groups, the ymca, local merchants groups, neighborhood groups, et cetera to activate and create activities along the way that bring people out and interest them, and then, i think the last slide is you. >> we will just end with some opportunities to deepening our partnership and more importantly , deepening our impact of getting people to get outside and recreate and get exercise and enjoy here in san francisco and that we as a city are supporting that. so deepening the partnership, opening parks along the route

when an apartment or little place in the mission or excelsior or in bay view hunters point or tenderloin. that's the tipping point where visitors come and take away a parent or guardian in the middle of the night and will not be seen again. all i want to say is as we look at the totality of this injustice which is not a positive of our democracy, we need to look at what's happening today and the other forms that go under different names but yet are destroying the whole mission and the reason why we're here as a city and as a nation. for freedom and dignity and human rights and respect and the rule of law but we can all work together to move forward. the fact you've done this so many years and we know so many families where you want to be four years ago and his family was incarcerated with the japanese homes and we can go on and on and site histories. the missions here with the number of our native americans, i know it's affected our families and veterans that were taken away and put into a particular hostile or shipped back to a country they were here. all these things are part of the di
