sonoma county jail dry weather will return late tonight and into monday. expect slightly cooler temperatures during the overnight hours with most cities in the bay area coolingn into the upper 40s. daytime highs monday will remain below average, tracking upper 50s along the coast, low to mid 60s inland. a cold system dropping in from the north will bring renewed shower chances from monday night through tuesday evening. rain totals with this storm will be weak, 0.25" or less. wind gusts will be 30 mph or less, well below advisory level. drier weather is forecast later in the week, but temperatures will remain cooler than normal. teachers are planning to go on strike tomorrow. the teachers union and the school district tried again today to reach an agreement - but failed. the two sides have been negotiating since last year. but talks were stalled over higher pay. kron 4's gayle ong spoke to both sides today after they met for hours. she is live in union city with the latest. gayle. the union and district spent hours at the bargaining table today.the union says the strike is on tomorrow.
