supervisor vallie brown and supervisor safai. you'll be hearing from the sierra club and others which you will be hearing from later in this press conference, and i'm really excited. we are gathered here because we all know that climate change is really one of the most pressing issues of our time. it affects every person in every community, and not just here in san francisco, but throughout the world. we know that it has real life tragic consequences that will only get worse if we do not act. and while san francisco has always been an environmental leader nationally in sustainability, we know we can go further. at last year's global climate action summit, i was proud to become one of the newest mayors to cochair the sierra club's mayor for 100% clean energy programs. at that summit, we also doubled down on san francisco's commitment to using 100% renewable energy by 2050 and be powered by 100% renewable electricity by 2030. that is a lot of numbers, i know [applause]. >> it means a great future for our environment. and to help us

[cheers and applause]. >> thank you, thank you everyone for being here today. thank you to the donors, all the children that are here, because this is going to be -- you will be here in the next couple of years having a good time, but i also want to thank the neighborhood groups because i remember, as a legislative age going out and starting to talk to the neighbors about doing this. i remember some neighbors said you are going to take away our park? our playground? this is -- we use this all the time, but what was really amazing is how the haight-ashbury community, north of the panhandle community, we have lilo gail and charles here from north of the panhandle community, and others who said yes, let's do this. how can we help? and that is how we create these amazing parks. i've been around a long time. i've been a legislative aide and it has been so much fun to watch these different parks and recreation centers open up, like hamilton. hayes valley playgrounds. now the panhandle park.

. >> reporter: supervisor vallie brown will introduce legislation to prohibit san francisco from doing business with states the outlaw or severely limit access to abortion and abortion rights . at this point, she says she will introduce that legislation and the wording a bit. back to the board of supervisors, next week. >>> santa clara county schools will be carefully monitoring a new lawsuit against the 49ers. the county challenging a multimillion dollar tax rebate given to the team. if the minors win schools will have to fork over most of the money. >> reporter: turns out the 49ers prevail in this lawsuit get to keep their property tax refund it falls on the santa clara unified school district to bear the greatest financial burden. looking at possibly cutting an initial check to the 49ers for $13 million and paying millions more per year after that. >> certainly $13 million is a lot of money. >> reporter: eric until the chief business officer for the santa clara unified school district and he is getting ready for a worst-case scenario to have to cut a check for $13 million to the 49e

[applause] >> for affordable housing in the city and county of san francisco and to the small property owners throughout san francisco, this will not raise property taxes. we're doing this in a very responsible way. to craft this bond and to build support for it, we convened a working group that started back in march. we know that passing this bonding getting the two thirds vote that we need will take hard work, and our community cochairs have led to this effort to make this happen. i want to acknowledge our community cochairs at this time for their hard work and helping to craft this particular bond, starting with malcolm young, thank you so much. last few years we have been grateful to the leadership of supervisor london breed now supervisor vallie brownl merchants and alex in particular who have stepped off to offer infrastructure around this event including 185 portable toilets in the event area and neighborhood. 4900 feet of fencing, 90 security guards, 33% increase from last year. dedicated cleanup crews inside the event and in surrounding neighborhoods. this is our third year working together, and this partnership has created a safer and cleaner and less impactful event. the merchant contribution along with a significant amount of support from sfpd, m.t.a., public works, public health, juvenile probation, department of emergency management and, of course, our own staff who works around the clock to manage this event has yielded good results. this event is not without risk, and as always we encourage everyone using the park to respect each other, respect the park, respect the neighborhoods, and to be safe and smart. as a public service reminder there are traffic considerations around the event. in addition to our regular saturday

[applause] >> thank you. i want to thank mayor breed and naomi kelly, chief hayes -white, the fire department, all of the men and women standing behind me these men and women, they always come out when we need them. not only if there is a fire, but in this community, they come out and they are part of the community. they come out when there is a community event at alley hill hatch, or the african-american health and culture complex. they bring out and stay barbecue with us all. this is actually a community station and all the other things they do for this community, i could go down the list, but i definitely, when i'm looking at this station, because i was part of the legislative aide when this first went on the bonds and they were first talking about it , and now looking at this station, i'm like, wow. it is absolutely beautiful. i would like a desk right over there, please. much easier to work than city hall sometimes, but i just found this out that our city architects actually designed this. to me, that is
