the past program will enhance mohcd's ongoing preservation work under the small sites program. this resolution is also approving use of past funds. by replacing the more expensive conventional debt with low cost long-term senior path financing, the city will significantly reduce borrowing costs and the need for other public resources such as f.f.p. i'll provide a little bit of background on the six projects that this resolution addresses? between june and august of this year, mohcd expects to close on transactions with c.c.cdc and a for a total of 69 units and 12 commercial spaces. you can see the locations of those buildings as well as the number of units in this map. the buildings have already been acquired by meta and ccdc using bridge financing so that they could move quickly on the transactions in a competitive market like s.f.? and now mohcg is coming in to provide the permanent financing on these projects and also the deed restriction. the population serves in these buildings include seniors, low to moderate income households, monolingual households, and school aged chil

mohcd has reported there's still room in this programme and this legislation will expand to protect tenants living in housing where affordable restructions expire, including housing developments that one, have affordability restrictions lasting until the tem of their r contract. as afford ability restrictions expire, they are no longer in a contractual requirement to maintain below-market rents. in recent years we've seen examples of these e expirationsn south beach marina apartments and 737 post in district three. in my district, affordability expired at the filmore housing. it will expire at finance projects an early inclusionary projects in this city. in some cases, the city and owners may be able to negotiate deals that permanently preserve affordability and in other cases, it will not be feasible. we need to make sure we are providing options for tenants facing loss of housing through no fault of their own simply because an affordability option will expire. this bill does that and i look to working with all of you. >> can we take this item, same house, same call and without objection,

housing and the strategic plan, the five-year plan that is now in development with our partners in mohcd. mod has been involved in those focus groups, specifically for people with disabilities in response to the visit that happened at this meeting last ti time, so thanks to this council's action in that regard. also, regarding better market street, denise mentioned earlier the forth coming open houses that will be giving folks a general update. i wanted to let you know a couple of other things. the dates are still be determined, but we anticipate that there will be, as a follow-up to the disability stakeholder meeting that happened after the presentation to the council around effective delineation in bikeway separation on better market street, that involved people with and without disabilities giving feedback, there is going to be another stakeholder meeting, most likely in june, that will talk about the better market street project specific to disability. and also, there is going to be some opportunities to participate in some design testing on effective delineation for detectable bikew

the programme coordinator and mohcd came on board in january anand the primary focus was reay to getthe city family team to be able to sit down with each of the cultural districts and just take a pulse to see where everybody stands in terms of their needs and work for the future. and then, outside of the last third quarter but just outside of the last third quarter, in april, they were able to issue their first rsp in order to issue funds to the cultural districts. so i will be reporting on that when we come back in june or july. and i wanted to also note again that the lgbtq plus cultural heritage strategy is expected to be published in june and we will be presented informational hearing at the june 19t june 19th meeting. and other than that -- i also wanted to know that we, again, partnered with the university of san francisco to assist some of the legacy business applicants in the preparation of their applications. this last round, rick crelo, took on that mentorship role and in the future, we may start trading back and forth on that duty. it is somewhat staff-time intensive, but
