and then funding to assist with the transition of the san francisco housing authority to ensure we stabilize the over 12,000 low-income households in our public housing portfolio and it includes a 5 million-dollar reserve to hedge against future potential vouchers or shortfalls in the proposed budget. in terms of preventing and reducing homelessness, there is over $100 million over the two years of the upcoming budget to support new homelessness services across the continuum, all the way from prevention to permanent supportive housing and making investments along that continuum. this includes ensuring we meet the mayor's goal of increasing our shelter bed capacity by 1,000 beds. we are investing $5 million in new investments or problem-solving interventions to help prevent homelessness, providing flexible grants and solutions to individuals to prevent them from becoming homeless. in addition to meeting the 1,000 bed shelter goal, the proposed budget also make significant key investments in our shelter system as a whole and includes funding client advocates, shelter transportation to ensure o

the first is, as you are aware, the san francisco housing authority is in a period of transition. the proposed budget is $2 million in salaries and o two regular position to support this transition period so the city can provide appropriate integration and oversight. one position is a clerk-level position for an existing housing authority staff person. we've also included two and a half limited duration f.t.e. funded by ocii who will provide support for the sale of new ownership units at an ocii project in transbay and those will be limited duration for three years. we anticipate the work will be done within 18 to 24 months. and over the last several budget cycles, we have hired temporary ploemployees. some encloud cultural districts, the program which moved from homelessness and supportive housing to our office. construction management of small site projects. the dalia housing portal and the restrictions on existing bmr units and we staff those in a temporary exempt way and proposing to move those to a permanent funding situation. the majority of the increase in the mayor's budge

author working with san francisco and other cities in california. also at the state level, a great piece of news. the affordable housing and sustainable communities grant program has awarded a grant to treasure island. the treasure island development authority, applied for $20 million in funding from this grant program. it rewards affordable housing and transportation infrastructure programs, that demonstrate sustainability features. out of the $20 million awarded, $15 million will fund affordable housing construction on the island and $5 million supporting transportation improvements. we -- on transportation look forward to using the funds for the bicycle pedestrian path come from y.b.i. to the touchdown at treasure island, as well as new a.c. buses, hopefully electric buses. on the lombard street bill, again good news that that bill a.b.1605, sponsor bid us and asked by supervisor stefani, moved out of the governance and finance committee, heads next to the senate transportation committee on july 9th. we hope for a favorable approval there as well. and finally, on the management front, and administration front, we he
