when i was a freshman first came onto this committee, boom, we were off to the races. i don't think it matters who is in the presidency, whether it's a democrat or republican, got to set that aside. our founders believed that this new nation was different. it's easier, it is easier if you're a monarch. it's easier if you're a dictator. the united states congress is not built for speed. it was not the easiest glide path to get from here to there. what it does require as i heard, from ronald ron reagan is we no trust but verify. so think about how big the federal government is now. there's 2.2 million employees. the federal government will spend more than $4.4 trillion, it's hard to get your arms wrapped around a big picture is. if you spent $1 million a day every day, it would take you more than 3000 years to get to 1 trillion. we spend $1 trillion every 90 days. so when i say there's always somebody doing something stupid summer, it's true. there are mistakes that are made. there are things that need to be learned. here's one of the challenges as you move this project
