well let's bring in our correspondent now tara schultz who is joining us from brussels terry as we heard. has just finished his press conference what did he have to say. what secretary-general stolzenberg can say is basically that there are different views within the alliance of course you have turkey on one side saying that its operations inside northern syria were completely legitimate that it has security concerns that everybody recognizes and that there was no way to satisfy these security concerns other than going in and moving some of the kurds now that's not a view shared by all allies including the united states the 2nd the 1st largest military inside nato and i'm told that also the french were extremely critical of the turkish operations but beyond that nato is an alliance that works by unanimity there's not really the opportunity to you know sanction turkey as an alliance and basically all they can do is let turkey know what they're thinking and hope for better days ahead and that's what secretary-general stolzenberg said we're looking for a way forward we're looking for politi
