today i am commending franklin marshall for organizing and contributing to the recognition of 400 years of african-american history in the united statesars, events across the u.s. have been produced and -- an honorable legacy and contributions of african-americans since a very first recorded groups of slaves from africa can put this shares -- to our shores in 1619. today i want to recognize someone who was central to the production and success of the series of events that took place in the historical fillmore district at the fillmore heritage center. thank you, franklin marshall, for your work, for the last 400 years, to really bring people's attention, of the history of the last 400 years by organizing these events. the series that franklin organized started with a launch party and a lecture back in january of 2018. he organized a storytelling our also at the fillmore heritage center, showcasing african-american heroes and leaders. this took place each and every saturday from january through march. finally, this series commences with an event at the war memorial theatre on august 25th for a book reading and signing gala for the publi
