the question san rafael parents want answered after a child died at an elementary school. the news at 11:00 starts right now. >>> so, what happened on that playground? that's what some north bay parents want to know after san rafael elementary school student died on campus. >> very few details are being released, including exactly what happened leading up to this accident. let's bring in nbc bay area sergio k sergio quintana, joins us live. sergio. >> reporter: the school is investigating exactly what happened. in a statement they did say that there were a few people who saw what happened to that student and that was likely traumatic for those people who witnessed it. this is a portion of a statement that was provided to us by the head of the school, joe harvey. members of our staff witnessed the accident. immediately called 911 and did their best to provide care for the student. he was transported to the hospital, but unfortunately did not survive. now, according to this written statement, the accident happened at the school playground. you can kind of see in this video p

a young boy is dead after a playground accident at a private school in san rafael.( james ) the school says classes will be in session this morning. the accident happened yesterday on the playground at mark day school on trellis drive. the school says other students and staff witnessed the accident and tried to provide aid for the young boy. he died at a hospital. the school is working with police to investigate what happened ... and the section of campus where the accident happened has been closed off. mark day school released this statement saying ... "the death of someone so young is devastating for all of us, and even more so under these circumstances and at this time of year, when we are surrounded by celebrations while we mourn. all of us at mark day school express our deepest sympathies to his family, classmates and friends." there will be counselors on campus today for students who need support. in the east bay. concord police are removing r-v's that are illegally taking up space for days, weeks and even months. as kron 4's gayle ong shows us ... two people are now without thei
