. >> noah feldman testified during the impeachment hearings in the house a week or so ago and said williamr is attacking his own department. unlike sessions william barr managed not to be criticized by trump but instead of protecting the department of justice and its institutional integrity he has instead attacked the department he leads by lambasting the fbi which is part of the doj. what do you make of how the attorney general is playing this out as we await the other big report from john durham? >> you have to remember william barr is very smart, highly experienced and very shrewd. he understands what he is doing and why he's doing it. we have the inspector general report and it does show there was bad behavior going on at the fbi and william barr is right to check out the other shoe we are waiting to drop is the prosecutor, mister durham from connecticut who has many more tools available to him and talking to more people and we are not going to know what is up until the other shoe drops and we get a report and some indictments from prosecutor durham. stay tuned. there's a lot of action

noah raises a point of smoking gun. doug, some people felt the president told president zelensky to talk to william barr and rudy giulianiing to say the investigation must be announced against joe biden and his son which is a motive. this is a potential political rival. wouldn't that be a smoking gun to many people? >> rev, it is great to be with you. you bring up a great point. yes, i think there are some other things to keep in mind. the president in the summary of the call with the president of ukraine saying, do us a favor, though. you have the chief of staff mick mulvaney doing a press conference and admitted to the quid pro quo. and you have all of these kr corroborating witnesses of what the whistle-blower said. i think the case that the democrats have is pretty solid and does show that the president abused the power. tried to bribe the president of ukraine to do him a political favor which would tip the balance of the election in 2020 to his favor, in return for military aid. simple. i think noah is right. democrats need to keep this simple, coherent, straightforward. it is moving voters in most of the polls you
