we go to betty yu with information on the shooting.>> reporter: at this hour, union city police havets of the streets blocked off for this investigation. this is where the police pursuit ended. they tell us, it began in fremont. it all started just after 6:30 this evening. police tell us they responded to a reported robbery at sophora at the pacific commons shopping area. when the officers arrived, they saw a car leaving the scene. >> the officers attempted to pull them over, initiating a pursuit. it went through fremont into union city. it ended in a cul-de-sac.>> reporter: police dispatch revealed that the car was going faster than 85 miles per hour, and the police vehicle reached nearly 100 miles per hour trying to catch up with this getaway car. the pursuit ended here in this residential neighborhood. police tell us that two people were injured in the shooting. both of them have been hospitalized with non-life- threatening injuries. another person has been taken into custody, and one officer, the open fire was not injured. >> union city as advising that the suspect is at gunpoint
